The Camp Blue Spruce Mission To provide children with food allergies a summer camp experience where they can be independent, confident, and care-free.
Our Organizers Our team includes several parents of children with food allergies, two allergy doctors, a former camp director and several former counselors, an outdoor educator, an elementary school counselor, and a communications professional.
We are working with WA FEAST, a support group in Washington State for children with food allergies, and the Oregon Food Allergy Network.
The staff at Gales Creek Camp are also invaluable partners in this effort.
Our First Summer The summer of 2013 will be the first year for Camp Blue Spruce. The camp is being carefully planned and is tapping a variety of expertise. We are certain that Camp Blue Spruce will offer many weeks of camp in coming years.
How you can help There are many one-time costs associated with starting a new camp, and the support of parents, medical professionals and others who understand the hardships of food allergies and the joys of a worry-camp is appreciated. Contact Camp Blue Spruce to explore our sponsorship, volunteer and employment opportunities.
Staff Camp staff is comprised of a talented crew of cooks, outdoor educators, counselors and directors. Two prominent allergy doctors and several nurses will provide medical assistance for the camp. Camp Blue Spruce will be a fun and exciting place to work. If you are interested in joining the team, please email us at: info@campbluespruce.org. Thanks!
